Chairman Du and general manager attended “The 2nd International and Cross-Strait Chitin Symposium & 7th National Academic Conference on Chitin” during November 6-8, 2009 in Qianjiang city, Hubei province. This was one of the most authoritative chitin seminars in China which was sponsored by the Chinese Chemical Committee. More than 330 people attended this conference, including chitin professional experts and scholars from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and 18 countries and regions. More specifically, many higher institutes have particularly sent their experts and scholars attended this conference, such as University of Nottingham, University of Maryland, University of Münster, University of Sao Paulo and other universities from Germany, Russian Academy of Sciences, Brazil, Denmark, Korea, Japan, Canada, India, Singapore, Thailand and Ghana. Besides, nearly 100 domestic universities, more than 200 experts and scholars as well as many renowned academicians like Cao Wenxuan, Zhu Y and Jiang shicheng attended the meeting.
In response to the invitation of this sponsor, chairman and general manager of Glycobio DU Yuguang, Cui Gang attended this smyposium. At the meeting, chairman Du gave report entitled "Plant Glycobiology and chitooligosaccharides on plant vaccine", which aroused widespread concern from domestic and foreign guests. In addition, Mr. Du discussed with the delegates about the hot topics on glycobiology in terms of chitin modification and application, oligosaccharides, enzymes and biological activity, biological materials and the application of functional oligosaccharide in agriculture, food and environmental protection.
